The Role
We're looking for an energetic Golf Operations Manager to lead our golf operations and shape the future of the game at Kiama. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll take ownership of member services, golf shop performance, and team leadership. This is a hands‑on, customer‑focused role where operational excellence meets strategic vision.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead daily golf operations, including competition timesheets, scoring, and event management.
* Engage and inspire members through competitions, championships, and major events.
* Mentor and motivate the Golf Shop team to deliver exceptional service and retail success.
* Champion participation through junior and ladies' coaching programs.
* Promote golf experiences to social groups and corporate clients, building strong community connections.
* Drive results with innovative merchandising and sales strategies.
* Manage and strengthen supplier relationships and contracts for the golf shop.
* Oversee cart bookings and maintenance.
* Collaborate across departments to deliver outstanding golfing experiences.
* Represent Kiama Golf Club with external stakeholders including Golf NSW, GA, and MiClub.
* Contribute ideas to strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
You're a passionate PGA Professional who loves inspiring participation and creating memorable experiences. You thrive in a leadership role and bring energy, creativity, and a customer‑first mindset.
* PGA Professional accreditation.
* A strong understanding of the game and the culture – a passion for the sport is essential.
* Strong leadership and people management skills.
* Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal abilities.
* Flexibility to work weekends and varied hours.
* In‑depth knowledge of golf rules, scoring, and handicapping.
* Experience with MiClub suite of golf management software.
* Experience in golf retail operations.
* Proven ability to implement club procedures and drive results.
* Outgoing, customer‑focused personality.
