This is an amazing opportunity to gain experience in corporate planning and reporting and play a critical role in the development of our new Council Plan and other organisational wide projects that are being delivered over the next few months.
What you'll be doing:
* Establish and maintain an Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework that facilitates Council's compliance with the Local Government Act 2020 and related regulations, Council's strategic objectives, and uses program management and change methodologies to support priority setting and effective and sustainable resource allocation.
* Facilitate quarterly Council Plan reporting processes, tools and systems to ensure quarterly reports are provided to the Executive Leadership Team and Council within agreed timeframes.
* Provide advice and guidance to Senior Leadership Team, Coordinators and Team Leaders to facilitate transparent, accountable and transparent reporting of the Council Plan and Local Government Performance Reporting Framework.
* Establish and maintain an outcomes-focused Performance Monitoring and Accountability Framework to enhance Council's operational reporting capability and performance reporting, in line with the IP&RF and Local Government Performance Reporting Framework (LGPRF), along with other reporting requirements and Council's staff performance management systems.
* Facilitate and contribute to an aligned, high performing and effective team by leading, coaching and mentoring team members, and setting direction, providing context, and establishing clearly defined role expectations and performance monitoring.
* Provide timely and constructive feedback and embed a culture that encourages team members to perform their best.
* Ensure departmental resources are effectively deployed through effective collaboration.
* Operate with a growth mindset to pursue continuous improvement, drive change, and encourage others to think outside the box.
* Lead the development and implementation of strategic projects consistent with the general requirements of the position and within the role's expected skills, competences, and training.
The skills and experience you'll bring to the role:
* Tertiary qualification in business, management or related discipline, and demonstrated experience (minimum of 5 years) in integrated strategic and operational planning roles.
* Demonstrated project and change management skills to enable the effective management of integrated planning and reporting processes across multiple stakeholders.
* Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal, facilitation and negotiation skills with the proven ability to negotiate suitable outcomes and resolve conflict in a complex environment with competing priorities.
* Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering outcome-focused performance reporting frameworks with strong attention to detail to facilitate transparent and accountable reporting within established timelines.
