About the role
Mater Private Hospital Townsville is currently looking for experienced Anaesthetics Nurses to join our dynamic Perioperative Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to expand your skillset by working across various departments such as Endoscopy, Recovery, Cardiac Cath Lab, and Day Procedures.
We welcome applications from both Enrolled and Registered Nurses, offering flexibility in your employment with options for Permanent Part-Time or Full-Time positions. Choose the employment arrangement that best suits your lifestyle Shifts are available from 6:15AM to 6:00PM at our Pimlico campus, providing a convenient location for your work.
The Perioperative Services department at Mater Private Hospital Townsville (MPHT) provides surgical services across 16 theatres and caters for adults and paediatrics with a variety of surgical specialities. MPHT boasts brand new state of the art theatre facilities, a catheterization laboratory, separate onsite day site surgery facilities as well as newly implemented robotic surgery involving the da Vinci Surgical System.
Our Perioperative Registered Nurses use extensive experience to provide essential support to our patients and Clinical Nurses in activities designed to aid the sustainability of the department and assist with the progression of service improvement.
Whilst displaying the highest level of clinical standards for the unit you will be responsible for:
* Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care while acting as patient advocate
* Demonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients during perioperative journey
* Provide effective management of post anaesthesia and postoperative complications
* Working collaboratively with the nursing team to provide exceptional care every time
* Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth
About you
You will be driven by a challenging yet rewarding environment where you can bring your energy and experience to this dynamic area.
* Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
* Experience working as an anaesthetics nurse
* Demonstrated ability to operate both in a team environment and autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning and strong listening, negotiation and decision making skills
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* Commitment to ensuring the levels of service is always delivered to patients at all times
