Your part in St Andrew's War Memorial
The Patient Administration Manager is responsible for the quality of the service delivery and administrative support provided by the Patient Services team to patients, relatives, doctors, hospital staff and other health providers across the Hospital's Admissions, St Andrew's Day Surgery, Emergency Centre, Sessional Suites, Switchboard, Mail Room and various other reception areas.
The Patient Administration Manager interacts with Group Office as the technical expert of the hospital's various specialised inpatient, Emergency Department and Sessional Suite systems, for troubleshooting and improving processes throughout the patient pathway.
What makes a difference for us?
Desirable to have qualifications in a relevant field and five years or more management experience in a large office situation, preferably within a medical practice or hospital.
Essential
- Specialist knowledge and experience within the private health industry.
- Excellent time management to ensure deadlines are met and have the ability to work under pressure.
- Demonstrated customer service skills at a high level.
- Ability to manage and lead a team.
- A willingness to learn, develop and grow.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Computer literacy skills at an advanced level with sound numeracy skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of clinical financial reporting systems, debtor procedures and knowledge of Medicare billing processes and functions.
- Experience utilising SAP, Cerner or equivalent systems.
- Demonstrated experience in the use of medical terminology at an intermediate level.
- The ability to work autonomously and as part of a cross-department team.
