Responsibilities:
* Examine detailed drawings and specifications to assess materials and equipment required to complete job task.
* Attend work sites in various locations and perform tasks to client's instructions.
* Overhaul winches and compile detailed reports
* Overhaul a wide range of plant and rotating equipment including pumps, valves, gearboxes, hydraulic components and marine propulsion systems.
* Sketch components and identify parts for repair or replacement.
* Inspect component parts with calibrated measuring equipment.
* Operate laser aligning equipment to align pumps, motors and gearboxes.
* Perform hydrostatic pressure testing and compile client reports.
* Produce sketches, photos and documentation required to compile client report.
* Complete Hamilton Engineering's job packs in accordance with job procedure.
* Operate various plant and machinery including cranes forklifts and EWP, and
* Keep working areas clean and tidy and adhere to HE safety policy and procedure.
Qualifications and experience:
* Mechanical Fitter Trade Qualification
* High risk work license
* C class (car) driver's licence is required
* Minimum 5-10 years of mechanical fitting experience required
* Australian work rights required for this position
Knowledge and Skills:
* A strong understanding of health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
* Knowledge of engineering practices, machine tools, hand tools and materials.
* Understanding of production processes, quality control and costs.
* Follow and adhere to Hamilton Engineering's OH&S policies and procedures
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to manage small projects.
* Problem-solving, decision-making and organisation skills.
* Ability to understand and follow instructions.
* Team player, able to work autonomously and with others.
