The Role This Poultry Farm Worker role is based in poultry breeding industry, working across modern poultry farming sites in and around Wellington, NSW. You'll be part of a close-knit, safety-focused team in a fast-paced, physical farm environment. The work involves exposure to dust, livestock smells, and live animals, so comfort working hands-on in an agricultural setting is essential. Key Responsibilities In this role, you'll support the daily operation and upkeep of poultry farming sites, ensuring animal welfare, hygiene, and farm efficiency standards are consistently met. Key duties include: Handling live birds with care, including catching, holding, and welfare activities Collecting, grading, and sorting eggs to company specifications Cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitising sheds, equipment, and machinery Preparing sheds for bird placement, depopulation, and clean-outs Operating and dismantling farming equipment as required Assisting with vaccinations and basic animal health tasks General maintenance of farm grounds and facilities Controlling pests and vermin in line with site procedures Benefits $35.49 per hour base rate, plus penalty rates 6-month casual role with the possibility of ongoing employment 36-48 hours per week, offering consistent income Full induction, training, and PPE provided Opportunity to transition to direct employment after 6 months Supportive team environment with strong safety and biosecurity standards Your Skills & Experience Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions Physically fit and comfortable with labour-intensive tasks Comfortable working around live and deceased poultry No asthma or dust-related allergies Previous animal handling or farm experience is valued but not essential Willingness to follow strict hygiene, shower-in/shower-out, and biosecurity requirements Ability to pass medical screening, drug & alcohol testing, and salmonella testing Choose Agri Labour Australia Agri Labour Australia is an award-winning Australian company with clients in every State and Territory.
