We are seeking a highly motivated Strategy Officer to join the Office of the General Manager, Trade. This role provides strategic and analytical support to the GM Trade and leadership team, helping drive Austrade's trade strategy, policy alignment, and organisational performance.
You will work at the centre of Austrade's trade division, contributing to strategic planning, coordination of priorities, executive briefings, and cross-agency engagement. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to high-profile initiatives that shape Australia's trade outcomes.

Location: Adelaide – SA, Brisbane – QLD, Melbourne - VIC, Sydney - NSW
Salary: $101,322 - $110,006
Responsibilities
Provide strategic and analytical support to the GM Trade, including preparing briefs, presentations, and advice on trade priorities, program performance, and policy settings.
Contribute to the design, implementation, and monitoring of trade strategies, including efforts to drive trade diversification and export resilience.
Provide secretariat support to the National Trade Forum and assist in the coordination of divisional planning, governance, reporting, and budget processes.
Support executive engagement with Ministers, industry, state/territory governments, and international partners through high-quality briefing materials and presentations.
Undertake research and analysis on trade policy, market trends, and sectoral opportunities to inform strategic decision-making.
Build effective working relationships across Austrade, government agencies, and external stakeholders to support delivery of trade priorities.
Contribute to a high-performing and collaborative team culture, demonstrating adaptability in a quick-paced environment.
Working closely within the Office of the General Manager to manage the GM's forward work schedule, as well as tracking key events and engagements across the division.

Australian citizenship – our successful candidate must be an Australian citizen.
Security clearance – our successful candidate is required to hold, or have the ability to obtain, and maintain a Baseline security clearance.
