About the Position
This is a fixed term, 12 month contract that will provide leadership and coordination in relation to strategic waste management initiatives, including the implementation of landfill diversion initiatives, contract management, infrastructure upgrades, community education programs and leadership of the waste management team.
About the Person
The successful person will have the ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others to achieve common goals as well as having demonstrated ability to lead and effectively manage a team. They must be able to communicate the City's vision and values in ways that gain the support of others and have the ability to influence and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders. Extensive experience and knowledge in waste management and resource recovery is essential, as is substantial experience and awareness of the current trends and issues in waste management. Experience in delivering outcomes in a project environment will be vital. It is imperative that you hold a relevant Tertiary Qualification in Environmental Science, Sustainability or similar.
