Transmission Line Engineer Job Description
This job involves providing engineering and technical expertise for transmission line design, primarily supporting the Carolinas West region. Applicants must be familiar with transmission line engineering theories and principles and proficient in solving complex problems.
The ideal candidate will possess advanced skills and be able to work independently. They will provide guidance to others, analyze scenarios, evaluate options, and perform design calculations to comply with design standards and sound engineering practices.
The successful candidate will ensure the accomplishment of transmission line projects and overall business goals through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities. They will also prepare thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and drawings.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of complex problems in area of transmission line design.
* Analyzing scenarios, evaluating options, and performing design calculations to comply with design standards, applicable codes, and sound engineering practices.
* Ensuring accomplishment of transmission line projects and overall business goals through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities.
* Preparing thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and drawings.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* 3+ years experience in transmission line engineering.
* 6+ years total as Civil Engineer.
* Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or Masters degree in Civil Engineering.
* Skilled in transmission line design theories and principles.
* Skilled in transmission line design software; e.g. PLS-CADD, PLS-TOWER, PLS-Pole, Foundation Design Software.
