Industry Capability Network Northern Territory (ICN) – Alice Springs NT
The Industry Capability Network Northern Territory (ICN NT) connects local businesses with projects across the Northern Territory. We work with key industries including Government, Defence, Construction, Oil & Gas, Mining and Renewables to ensure local suppliers have the opportunity to contribute to projects of all sizes.
About the role
We're looking for an Industry Engagement Officer to be our lead representative in Alice Springs and the wider Central Australian and Barkly regions. You'll be out meeting businesses, learning what they can do, and connecting them with real project opportunities. Your work will help maximise local content in major projects and grow economic benefits in the region.
Responsibilities
* Engage with local businesses to understand their capabilities and connect them with major projects.
* Conduct site visits to further understand capabilities, capacity and readiness.
* Keep supplier profiles up to date in our database so they're visible to project owners.
* Match capable local suppliers to scopes of work from project proponents.
* Promote Central Australian and Barkly industry capability at events and forums.
* Plan and deliver regional engagement activities and quarterly visits to Tennant Creek.
* Assist the ICN NT team in mapping local supply chains and industry networks to support strategies for new and emerging industries.
What we are looking for
We are seeking an individual who is proactive, adaptable, and passionate about supporting local businesses.
* Experience working with industry, trade, or supply chain networks.
* Communicates well and can engage with people from all backgrounds.
* Strong knowledge of the Central and Barkly regional business landscape.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a small, dynamic team.
* Ability to use Microsoft Office and CRM systems (CRM preferred but not essential).
* A background in Project Management or Business Development would be advantageous, but not essential.
