About the Role
Majarlin is seeking expressions of interest from registered Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health professionals who have a passion for teaching.
Part of Majarlin's core business is the provision and facilitation of clinical supervision/facilitation for Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health students undertaking formal practicums in the Kimberley.
Majarlin facilitates over 250 student placements per year across the Kimberley, and these students come from a multitude of Universities across Australia.
Key Responsibilities
* Incorporate, advocate and demonstrate culturally sensitive healthcare practices.
* Supervise students effectively with a student-centered approach that facilitates active learning and supports students from diverse backgrounds.
* Provide academic counseling, mentoring, and advice to students related to their clinical placement.
* Collaborate with other staff, including Clinical Education staff at Majarlin, Majarlin Leadership and relevant stakeholders from external clinical facilities and universities.
* Supervise/facilitate/support students undertaking Majarlin practicums in accordance with Majarlin, University, and Facility requirements including the completion of midway and final summative assessments.
* Incorporate scholarship and professional expertise into teaching practices, ensuring that teaching is informed by relevant research in the field.
* Contribute to the development of engaging, relevant, and technology-enhanced supervision/facilitation models.
* Contribute to collaborative projects relevant to discipline-based teaching practices.
* Contribute to the scholarship of teaching and learning and/or professional practice in the discipline.
* Support the broader research activities of Majarlin and actively contribute to collaborative and/or discipline-focused research projects.
* Demonstrate a commitment to building strategic networks and collaborative relationships within industry, academic, and community settings.
* Actively raise the profile of the discipline within the University and the external community.
* Demonstrate commitment to community engagement.
About You
* Relevant qualifications and/or experience recognized by the institution as appropriate for the relevant discipline area.
* Experience in teaching and/or research within a university or teaching environment will be highly regarded.
Desirable
* Evidence of progress towards advanced clinical (e.g., Clinical Masters) and or academic qualifications (i.e., Masters by Research or PhD), or interest in doing so.
Job Details
This is a sessional role, suitable for clinicians who are interested in contributing to growing the next generation of the Kimberley health workforce.
You will be supported by senior Majarlin staff and have access to the University's academic resources to support your work.
Please note this role is onsite at the Broome or Kununurra campus and cannot be done remotely.
