About This Role
We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Child and Youth Support Specialist. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate support and practical tools to help children and young people who have experienced family violence rebuild trust, connection, and hope.
This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families. You will work closely with families, helping parents strengthen their relationships with their children, and conduct risk assessments and safety planning to ensure children's wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide case management and support to children and young people who have experienced family violence
* Offer evidence-based, developmentally appropriate support in home, school, and community settings
* Work closely with families, helping parents strengthen their relationships with their children
* Conduct risk assessments and safety planning to ensure children's wellbeing
* Collaborate with key agencies and professionals to deliver holistic support
Requirements
* Experience working with children and families in a community service setting
* A trauma-informed and client-centered approach to support
* Strong communication and liaison skills to engage with families and partner agencies
* Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently
* Proficiency in case note writing and record management
* A valid Working with Children Check, WA Driver's Licence, and First Aid & CPR certification
* A qualification in Social Work, Early Childhood, Counselling, Community Services, or a related field (preferred but not essential)
