Aircraft Maintenance Assistant

About the role
As a member of the Aircraft Maintenance team at RAAF Base Richmond, NSW, your primary responsibility will be to carry out work as tasked by the Aircraft Team Leads and or AMEs on either the aircraft or aircraft components. You will work within your competency and authorisation to contribute to the achievement of aircraft maintenance targets. You may at times be assigned to a number of varying maintenance projects undertaken by Airbus within the facility.
Some of your day-to-day duties in this role will include:
- Manual handling
- Working at heights
- Aircraft washing and cleaning
- Specific aircraft painting tasks
- Hazardous waste management
- Chemical storage management, and
- Other facility support functions as required
About you
The knowledge, skills and experience best suited to this role would include:
- Certificate II Aeroskills or equivalent aviation trade support experience
- Hand skills for working with tools in a maintenance environment
- Exposure to or have worked in the Aviation industry or similar
- Technical experience and/or background from an allied industry
- Experience working within a regulated maintenance environment
- Experience working to and complying with work, health and safety policies and procedures
- Ability to learn and quickly apply new skills and training
- Work effectively within a team environment
