Cell Media is a Perth-based eLearning design and production studio working with major mining and resources companies across Australia and internationally. Our clients include large, blue-chip organisations operating some of the most complex industrial environments in the country.
We create high-quality training content using videography, photography, 2D and 3D animation, and deliver learning solutions used on mine sites and industrial facilities across Australia and overseas.
We are now entering a new growth and optimisation phase and are looking for a Senior Bookkeeper / Finance Manager who wants real ownership, real influence and real impact — not just another transactional bookkeeping role.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, end-to-end finance role in a complex SME environment with:
* 25+ staff
* Monthly payroll
* Multi-entity structure
* Australian and Singapore operations
* Long-term contracts and project-based revenue
* Blue-chip corporate clients
You will own the day-to-day finance engine of the business while also playing a key role in:
* Cash-flow forecasting
* Cost control and margin improvement
* Commercial analysis
* Business improvement initiatives
Roughly 80% of your work will be Australia-focused and 20% Singapore-focused. We have an external accountant for statutory lodgements — your role is operational, commercial and analytical.
What You'll Be Doing
Core Finance Ownership
* End-to-end bookkeeping in Xero
* Bank, credit card and loan reconciliations
* Accounts payable and receivable oversight
* Superannuation, PAYG, CPF and statutory preparation
* Month-end close and management accounts
Commercial & Analytical Work
* Cash-flow forecasting and scenario modelling
* Budget vs actual reporting
* Debt tracking and reconciliation
* Cost analysis and margin insights
* Reviewing supplier contracts and negotiating better rates
* Identifying savings opportunities across the business
Process & System Improvement
* Improving finance workflows and internal controls
* Building repeatable processes and SOPs
* Introducing better reporting and forecasting tools
* Supporting the Managing Director with commercial insights
* CPF and SDL calculations and submissions
* Reconciliations and FX translation
* AR/AP for Singapore clients and suppliers
Full training and handover will be provided. You are not expected to already know Singapore payroll rules — just be willing and capable of learning them.
Who We're Looking For
This role is perfect for someone who:
* Has 8+ years' experience as a senior bookkeeper, finance manager or similar
* Has existing MYOB experience (we are migrating our Australian office to Xero to align with Singapore at the end of Q3 - March 31st).
* Has run payroll in a medium-sized business
* Has prepared BAS and management accounts
* Is commercially curious and analytical
* Enjoys improving systems and processes
* Is comfortable getting hands-on, not just supervising
* Wants to influence how a business makes and saves money
* You do not need to be a qualified accountant. A Certificate IV or Diploma in Bookkeeping / Accounting is ideal.
