Network Support Engineer - Federal Government Projects 
Location: Sydney Based (100% Onsite due to the project’s nature and security requirements) 
Engagement: Initial 12-month contract with potential extension 
Responsibilities 
- Provide specialist network support for deployed Defence ICT systems. 
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in constrained environments. 
- Design, build, and deploy secure network solutions aligned with Defence protocols. 
- Maintain, patch, and upgrade systems per the Defence Patch Management Plan. 
- Develop SOPs, build guides, and technical documentation. 
- Mentor onsite technical staff and assist in training Navy ship CIS teams. 
- Participate in on-call rotations for High Priority Incidents (HPIs). 
- Manage digital certificates and liaise with vendors for issue resolution. 
Skills & Experience 
- Proven experience as a Network/Gateway Engineer 
- Robust knowledge of Defence deployed systems and secure environments 
- Expertise in networking technologies including Routing, Switching, VPN, VLAN, OSPF, BGP, MPLS TE, Next Gen Firewalls, VoIP, Wireless LAN, NAC, NetFlow, SNMP 
- Experience with Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, Skype, Citrix VDI, Hypervisor administration 
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills 
Clearance and Credentials 
- Must be an Australian Citizen with an active NV2 security clearance (or higher) or ability to obtain NV2 
Other requirements 
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations, with occasional after-hours or weekend work 
- DSN access and ability to comply with US ITAR regulations due to handling export-controlled ICT products
