About the Role
A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced Financial Manager to join the Tronox Mineral's operations on a full time basis!
This role is part of a finance team supporting multiple mining and minerals processing facilities across our Eastern Operations (EOPS) in the Murray Basin (VIC/NSW). The role will partner with other team members in the region and across Australia to ensure the provision of sufficient finance support to all of Eastern Operations. We are looking for a finance professional with demonstrated leadership and people management experience that can develop and drive our team at EOPS.
Tronox welcomes flexibility within our roles - you can enjoy a 9 day fortnight roster or do an inner city roster of 9 days on, 5 days off, 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on (work from home) and 3 days off.
Our Atlas mine site is approx. 3-hour drive from Mildura or a 4 hour drive from Bendigo. From either Mildura or Balranald, you can securely lock up your car, sit back and relax on the regularly scheduled bus ride to and from Atlas.
This role is predominately based at our Atlas mine site however, you will be required to work from our Broken Hill Processing Plant when required (approx. once a month).
The Finance Manager’s main accountabilities will include:
9. Leading effectively, demonstrating a strong leadership style conducive to engagement, collaboration, performance and growth.
10. Managing a small team of finance professionals: Actively mentor team members to foster their professional growth and contribute to overall team success. Oversee, delegate and monitor work performance and output.
11. Ensure effective communication, collaboration, and productivity across all members.
12. Liaise cross-functionally and support with various departments within EOPS and the wider finance team
13. Providing primary business partner support to Site Director, ensuring the provision of high quality Finance planning, analysis and recommendations to the business and leaders.
14. Measure and analyse business drivers and KPI's against targets and scenario thresholds
15. Encourage and implement continuous improvement within the finance team
16. Lead accounting, compliance, and projections for mine opening and mine closure projects.
17. Maintain the financial systems, controls, processes and reporting mechanisms in accordance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements plus Company policy and standard business processes
18. Prepare monthly variance reports across multiple reporting scenarios
19. Review and reconcile monthly accounting activities in the appropriate systems
20. Prepare financial statements and analyse financial reports
21. Partner with Business Analysts to ensure project costs and benefits are aligned.
22. Accurate accounting for costs through transaction recording, maintaining effective key controls
23. Oversee Inventory and asset and financial controls.
24. Primary support on cost analysis, variance analysis, and financial support for Unit Operations
About you:
To be successful in your application you will ideally need to possess:
25. A Bachelor’s Degree or Higher in Accounting/Finance or equivalent and a suitable recognised accounting qualification (CA, CPA etc.).
26. SAP and advanced excel experience is desirable
27. Management Accounting experience highly regarded
28. Demonstrated people management experience
29. Proven ability to manage diverse teams effectively
30. Strong relationship building and management skills to partner with a diverse range of stakeholders.
31. Hold strong leadership style with a track record of success
32. A passion for reporting and analysis of financial data to maximise unrealised business opportunities
33. Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
34. Ability to work effectively across functional teams in Australia
