Tiwi Resources Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and motivated professional to lead a unique aquaculture and community development program on the Tiwi Islands, Northern Territory.
The role supports the development of local leadership across oyster farming, bush foods, medicinal plants and emerging prawn farm initiatives.
Based in Wurrumiyanga, the successful applicant will oversee oyster farm operations while supporting local leadership development across prawn farming, bush foods, medicinal plants and Indigenous enterprise initiatives.
This is a hands-on remote leadership role suited to someone practical, adaptable and comfortable working in a remote community environment.
Key responsibilities include:
* Coordinating day-to-day aquaculture and oyster farm operations
* Leading and supporting a local workforce team
* Mentoring and developing emerging local supervisors and staff
* Supporting bush foods and related enterprise activities
* Assisting with operational planning, logistics and project delivery
* Ensuring compliance with project reporting and funding requirements
* Building strong working relationships with community, government and industry stakeholders
* Promoting culturally respectful and safe workplace practices
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
* Practical, adaptable and hands-on
* Comfortable living and working remotely
* Experienced in aquaculture, environmental management, remote operations, natural resource management or related industries
* Skilled in leadership and operational coordination
* Able to work respectfully alongside Indigenous communities
* Organised, self-motivated and solutions-focused
Experience working in remote Australia or within Indigenous enterprise development will be highly regarded.
