Overview
You will step into a pivotal leadership position where you own the release strategy for a high-profile digital transformation. This is your opportunity to move beyond simple coordination and truly "own the space," maturing the release and Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes for a major enterprise program. You will play a critical role in the program, tying together complex integrations between Salesforce and core registry replacements to ensure seamless go-lives. If you enjoy the challenge of sitting at the intersection of development, infrastructure, and business strategy, this role offers the autonomy to shape how technology is delivered.
Please note, this is a 12 month maximum term contract position where you will be required to work out of the Newcastle office 3 days per week.
What you’ll be doing
* Orchestrating Releases: You will plan and oversee the deployment of technology releases, ensuring they are delivered on time and with minimal disruption to business operations.
* Bridging the Gap: You will act as the central point of coordination between DevOps, Engineering, and Infrastructure teams to manage environment releases and testing cycles.
* Maturing Processes: You will take over and mature the Change Advisory Board (CAB) process, implementing governance and streamlined communication for business stakeholders.
* Managing Complexity: Your day-to-day involves navigating a complex integration landscape, including microservices and the program's registry replacement project.
* Stakeholder Leadership: You will work closely with Product Owners, QA Leads, and Program Directors to align release schedules with business priorities and sprint cycles.
Experience required
* Technical Foundation: A background in Release Management, Software Development (C# preferred), DevSecOps, or as a Scrum Master to understand the stages of a release cycle.
* Release Expertise: Proven experience in technology release management within an Agile, Scrum, and DevOps environment.
* Tooling & Environments: Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins) and exposure to cloud environments like AWS or Azure.
* Change Governance: Strong understanding of ITIL change management processes and experience leading a CAB.
* Communication: Exceptional ability to manage dependencies and communicate risks to both technical teams and business stakeholders.
About the company
You will join a growing organisation undertaking a large transformation program, modernising systems and processes to better support stakeholders and deliver reliable, future-focused digital solutions. You’ll be joining a forward-thinking team committed to quality, innovation, and continuous improvement, where your work will directly contribute to the success of large-scale technology initiatives.
* Hybrid Flexibility: Maintain a great work-life balance with 3 days per week on-site in Newcastle and 2 days remote.
* Nine-Day Fortnight: The option to compress your work hours and do a 9-day fortnight.
* Technical Leadership: Reporting to the Technical Delivery Lead, you will have the autonomy to own your domain while receiving technical support and mentorship.
* High-Impact Projects: Lead the release of a significant registry replacement and Salesforce integration layer.
* Modern Stack: Work within an environment utilising AWS, C#, and modern microservices.
