Job Description
Quick overview of the role
We are currently seeking an Operator/Welder in a casual capacity to join our friendly team with a modern facility! This role is responsible for welding andconstructing pile cages (footing cages and pad footings) using tack welds. At a minimum, you will operate auto cage pile machines, MIG welders, 5-inch angle grinders, overhead crane as well as clamps and jigs. This position is based at Currumbin.
What will you be doing?
* Build required cages in accordance with the specifications provided by customers
* Maintain and operate all cage-making machines, cranes, and welding equipment in a safe manner
* Complete Pre-start checks on the cage-making machine, crane, and welding machines
* Interpretand utilisedrawings
* Check that the product has been produced to the correct measurement
* Follow expected work methods for the welder, cage maker andcages
* Ensure the correct PPE is worn
* Produce required cagesefficiently and as safeas possible
* Maintain general housekeeping of the work area and machinery.
Desired Skills and Experience
What are we looking for in the successful candidate?
* At least six months previous experience welding ideal
* Basic metal inert gas welding experience
* Previous experience reading and interpreting basic drawings
* Welding ticket highly regarded
* Forklift license highly regarded
