About us: Maternity Services at the Emerald Hospital is the main birthing hub for the Central Highland district and caters for approximately 350 births annually. The Antenatal Clinic offers ambulatory antenatal care and education, the Antenatal/Postnatal ward offers inpatient care, the Birth Suites offer care during labour and birth. The Regional Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) at Emerald Hospital has been a permanent fixture since 2012, established as the first in Central Queensland, making it one of the longest running programmes in Queensland. This service co-exists within the Emerald Maternity Unit, with the support of the Midwifery Unit Manager, Midwifery Educator, Director of Nursing and works closely with the Child Health Team. About the role: A Clinical Midwife is a Registered Midwife who is accountable at an advanced level for the co-ordination of clinical practice delivered in a clinical specialty. This position provides leadership and support to nursing and medical staff and supports the delivery of competent, best practice quality nursing care, while working in collaboration with the line manager of the unit. About you: Registration as a Registered Midwife (RM)Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). While not mandatory, it is highly desirable to have post graduate qualifications in the clinical area of expertise.
