We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and passionate chef to join our amazing kitchen team on full time basis.
About the role
Reporting to the Executive Chef, this hands-on role is for a committed hospitality professional looking to contribute to an already strong kitchen team. Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
Oversee preparing, cooking, and serving of seafood dishes and other food products in accordance with the menu.
Monitor quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
Supervise and provide directions for cooks, chefs and kitchen hands
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a fun & collaborative environment
Maintain a high standard of cleanliness & sanitation both personally and professionally
About you
As a member of the Whalebone kitchen team driving the restaurant forward applicants must have the follow,
Certificate III in commercial cookery
Current food safety supervisor certificate
Substantial Australian commercial cookery experience for at least 3 years or more
Fantastic time management & punctuality
Strong communication skills & ability to work well within a team environment
A positive attitude towards the business & coworkers
Have an attention to detail & passion for delivering exceptional culinary experiences
Understanding of HACCP & food safe procedures while having Food Safety Supervisor Cert
Have flexibility necessary to work on days, nights, weekends
