What's my job?

Based in our Melbourne office, this is no ordinary editor role. We're looking for a Beauty Editor who lives and breathes makeup, skincare and all things beauty. You'll be the leading voice of beauty of Howatson+Company's key client Myer, shaping storytelling across Instagram, Tiktok and emerging digital platforms.

Reporting to the Head of Content Strategy, you'll bring a blend of editorial skills, professional makeup artistry skills and social media expertise. You'll be just as comfortable creating a viral 'GRWM' for TikTok as you are curating a trend report on the latest serum ingredients, all while presenting on-camera with confidence and credibility.

This role is about creativity and expertise in equal measure; helping define the voice of beauty at Myer and building content and that excites audiences and drives results.

A Day in the Life

Craft & Lead Beauty Stories

* Be the expert beauty voice for Myer, creating compelling content that covers makeup, skincare, haircare and fragrance
* Write, curate and produce engaging content that translates beauty trends into must-have edits, seasonal campaigns and educational features
* Leverage your product knowledge, professional artistry skills and industry credibility to ensure everything we publish feels authoritative, aspirational and achievable

On-Camera Authority

* Regularly appear on-camera to create tutorials, GRWMs, masterclasses and product breakdowns, applying your own makeup skills in a polished, professional way
* Confidently present and articulate beauty stories in a way that feels authentic and engaging across different platforms
* Work with production teams to deliver polished, high-performing content

Social-First Content Creation

* Own and drive beauty storytelling across TikTok and Instagram with a social-native mindset
* Ideate and deliver innovative formats: tutorials, hacks, trend reactions, live streams, BTS moments and more
* Stay ahead of the cultural curve – knowing when a trend will resonate, and translating it into successful branded content that audiences want to watch
* Analyse performance and quickly adapt formats to maximise reach and engagement

Collaboration & Campaign Support

* Work with internal teams (production, design, strategy) to align beauty content with broader campaigns
* Bring disruptive, creative ideas into brainstorms and content planning
* Ensure beauty storytelling feels cohesive alongside fashion, home and lifestyle content

How will we know you're the one?

* You are a true beauty expert, coming from a background in makeup artistry, beauty editing or beauty retail
* You have strong makeup application skills and can seamlessly translate those to camera-ready tutorial and videos
* You have genuine on-camera presence – confident, authentic, energetic and professional
* You are a social native. You know what works in TikTok and Instagram and have experience driving content that performs
* You stay across global and local beauty trends, from viral TikTok hacks to industry innovations
* You're comfortable writing, ideating and producing beauty-led concepts and can craft copy that's sharp, engaging and on-brand
* Whilst beauty is your core expertise, you understand styling and have an eye for fashion and wider cultural relevance
* You're a natural collaborator who thrives in a creative, fast-paced environment
