The Senior Policy Officer, Floodplain Policy and Strategy will lead the development of priority floodplain management policy and contribute to related project delivery. Key attributes sought include include demonstrated experience and capability in policy development and project delivery and ability to communicate technical information and deliver high quality work in tight deadlines. The successful candidate will be able to develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and work across several disciplines.
This is an opportunity to significantly contribute to ongoing reform in the floodplain management and broader emergency management sector. You will work within a small unit to build and maintain strong working relationships with our stakeholders and foster a collaborative environment to deliver a range of flood risk management projects in conjunction with partner agencies including VICSES, the Bureau of Meteorology, Emergency Management Victoria, Catchment Management Authorities and local government.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
* An appropriate tertiary qualification in engineering, science, natural resource management or approved equivalent would be desirable.
* Experience with government is desirable, particularly in public policy development, statutory planning, major project delivery, public land management, or regulatory approvals.
This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
