**Development Officer - Planning Assistant
**Purpose**
This position will be responsible for supporting the Planning Assessment team by providing front line
to counter enquiries, responding to phone and electronic customer enquiries, identifying different forms of

**Essential Requirements**
- Australian residency.
- Advanced communication skills both written and verbal.
**Qualifications**
- Degree in Urban and Regional Planning (or studying towards) (or equivalent) and/or demonstrated
relevant experience.
**Skills, Knowledge & Experience**
- Knowledge of the relevant planning legislation (specifically as they relate to urban planning matters).
- Knowledge of the development assessment process and the procedures involved in urban planning
matters.

**Development Officer - Planning Assistant
- Ability to analyse and interpret drawings, documents and specifications and legislation relating to the
development and use of land and buildings.
- Appropriate keyboard and computer skills, with particular reference to the current systems the State
Government and Council utilises in file management and assessment.
- Proven written and verbal communication skills.
