About the role: MULTIPLE ONGOING/ FIXED TERM POSITIONS AVAILABLE The Policy Officer, Strategic Policy & Evidence role works as part of an internal consultancy to provide high quality research and analysis, provide strategic advice, and contribute to the delivery of strategic projects across the Department of Health. You will provide policy development support and capability building through work on specific policy projects working in a matrix model to deliver internal consulting support. To be successful in this role, you will be a high performing team member with analytical, strategic planning, project management and communication skills. You may offer specialist skills and knowledge in either health systems, analytics, government processes, legislation, stakeholder consultation, policy design, or program implementation. You will have the opportunity to apply and grow your skills on complex projects across a variety of policy areas. Success in this role will be predicated on the ability to work with subject matter experts and ensure outcomes are achieved. Consulting experience would be an advantage. About you: Experience/ Qualifications * A tertiary qualification in fields related to public health, health economics/economics, social policy or health administration would be desirable. * Applicants with a tertiary qualification in other fields but with work experience in the above fields and experience in use of evidence, data analytics and visualisation or economic analysis would also be considered suitable. * Knowledge and experience in government, health sector, health service delivery, social sector and/or economics with skills and experience in policy would be desirable. * Experience in the analysis, interpretation, visualisation, presentation and communication of quantitative data to a range of audiences. Experience using Victorian government administrative data is desirable (coding experience would be a bonus). * Consulting experience would be desirable.
