The Opportunity
Perform associated blasting, preparation and painting tasks within the shipyard environment on vessels and associated components / equipment, or other tasks on time, in full and to standard, while striving for continuous improvement.
What's involved
* Water blasting and abrasive blasting of hulls & structures.
* Sanding, masking and demasking to vessels hulls & structures.
* Fill & faring ships sides & hull repairs
* Priming, undercoating, top coating of all paint systems to all surfaces
* Airless spray painting & pot gun spraying to vessel hulls & structures
* Brush and roller painting
* Conduct fire & confined space watch as required and directed by Supervisor/Manager
* Maintaining a clean, tidy and productive work environment
* Support the other parts of the business as required
* Ensure the requirements of AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008 Quality management systems are met
You'll need
* Trade Certification in Abrasive Blasting/ Industrial Coatings or equivalent
* Experience in Blasting/Painting in marine industry or heavy industrial
* Capable of performing work in a safe and acceptable manner
* Demonstrate adequate theoretical knowledge
* Confined Space and Working at Heights
* First Attack Fire Fighting Training
* First Aid Certificate
* Previous experience in Marine/Ship repair or heavy industry
