About the role
The Business Development Manager (BDM) reports to the Head of Client Management and Business Development and will play a key role in driving sustainable business growth as part of a third-party administration and AI-technology company by securing new clients and strengthening relationships within the motor insurance industry.
Identify and close new business opportunities, by networking and growing long standing relationships, and working closely with internal teams to improve operational processes and delivery tools. You will help the team enable scalable, efficient service delivery, alongside strong client satisfaction and retention.
What you'll be doing
* Build, identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities within the motor insurance and fleet sectors.
* Develop and manage a pipeline of prospective clients, from initial lead through to closing.
* Develop and foster long-term relationships with clients to enable ongoing account expansion and loyalty.
* Negotiate and close sales that contribute directly to revenue growth and market expansion.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams such as, delivery, operations, and technical teams to align solution delivery with client needs and maximize service quality.
* Gather and track market and competitor information to aid in developing pricing strategies and strengthening the company’s competitive position.
* Provide input into pricing models and service delivery structures alongside pricing, operations, and financial stakeholders.
* Support and contribute to strategic sales plans and goals in consultation with the executive team.
* Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and workflows related to client delivery, onboarding, and account management - and collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement these improvements.
* Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals that demonstrate financial, operational, and technical expertise.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date activity and pipeline data in Salesforce
What we're looking for
* Proven track record in business development or sales role within the motor insurance industry, fleet, or related sectors.
* Experience in B2B solution selling, account management, or enterprise sales.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
* Ability to work self-directed and motivated by goals and incentives.
* Collaborative team player with strong organisational skills.
* Ability to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements alongside operational stakeholders.
* Proficiency with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce) and Microsoft Office suite.
