About the Role
We are seeking an organised and detail-oriented
Accounts Assistant
to join our finance team on a 6-month contract. This role will provide vital support across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting tasks. You will work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure the smooth operation of daily financial processes and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist with the setup and implementation of the accounting software, ensuring accuracy and smooth transition.
· Process and record day-to-day financial transactions in the accounting system.
· Assist with accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
· Support month-end reconciliations including bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts.
· Assist with payroll processing and related compliance requirements.
· Help with budgeting, forecasting, and providing financial information to management.
· Liaise with suppliers, customers, and external stakeholders regarding finance queries.
· Provide administrative and ad-hoc support to the finance function as required.

Qualifications & Experience
· Minimum 1 year of experience in accounts or bookkeeping.
· Proficiency with accounting software (experience with Xero / Microsoft Dynamics desirable).
· Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
· Strong organisation skills, self-motivation and accountability for delivery.
· Good communication skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
· Good business acumen combined with problem solving and decision-making skills.
· Ability to prioritise own efforts on multiple simultaneous projects.
· High level of attention to detail and ability to develop error checking methodologies.
