Overview
Aboriginal Youth & Disability Support Worker role at Allambi Care. Allambi Care are seeking Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander support workers who have invested interest in the welfare and support of young people who identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander.
Responsibilities
- Building a relationship with the people you are caring for.
- Providing around the clock care to participants, following a structured routine developed specifically for their needs
- Administering medication
- Transporting the people in our care to and from school, day programs and appointments
- Assist in the implementation of programs designed for the development of the client
- Report writing
About the Role
As a Support Worker, you will be one of the most influential people in your clients’ life. Your role will be diverse and challenging and will involve direct care for clients in settings such as houses, schools, hospitals, community centres and emergency accommodation.
Qualifications
- Current Working with Children Check (paid employment)
- Current NDIS Worker Check
- Current First Aid Certificate (Provide First Aid; Course Code HLTAID011)
- National Police Check
- A current driver’s licence
- A vehicle that can transport upwards of 4 people
- Comprehensive Car Insurance
- Certificate of Completion: NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Ability to work a 7-day shift work roster
- Willingness to participate in pre-employment medical checks
- Two professional references
Rewards & Path to Qualifications
- Paid 5-day Induction program including the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) course
- Paid 6-month probationary training program
- Mentor support and on-call support during probation
- Option to enrol in CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services with partnered RTO; up to 8 units credit based on induction completion and probation performance
- Rates commence at SCHADS Level 2 Paypoint 1; qualifications and experience progress paypoints
Desirable Qualifications
- Diploma of Community Services
- Bachelor of Human Services
- Diploma level (or higher) qualification in a relevant field
