Are you an experienced Payroll professional looking for a stable yet rewarding opportunity within the public sector? We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join a fast-paced government team for an initial 6-month contract, with strong potential for extension or permanency.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives on accuracy, enjoys working within a supportive team, and takes pride in delivering seamless payroll services.
The Role
Working on a fortnightly cycle, you will be responsible for ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. You will manage the end-to-end processing of timesheets and maintain the integrity of the payroll database.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage timesheets, salary variations, and allowances.
* Process commencements, terminations, leave bookings, and deductions.
* Ensure all entries comply with relevant Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
* Maintain confidential personnel files in accordance with government legislation.
* Act as a point of contact for payroll inquiries, escalating complex issues to Senior Payroll Officers when required.

* Pay Rate: $52 - $62 per hour + Superannuation (commensurate with experience).
* Duration: 6-month initial contract with a high likelihood of extension or conversion to permanent.
