Salisbury Plain, SA Based in northern metropolitan Adelaide our client is a leading supplier and distributor of valves, pipelines and oilfield products. They are looking for an Engineering Manager to manage their engineering and research and development department.
Reporting to the managing director, the role is to plan, organise, direct, control and coordinate the design, engineering and testing activities and operations at our Adelaide Engineering Automation and test facility, including developing and maintaining software procedures, working with the sales team to provide engineering design support, and assisting and providing oversight of the engineering, machining and test shop.
Responsibilities
* Planning, organising, directing and controlling the engineering and technical operations;
* Oversight and execution of research and development projects;
* Implementing and monitoring research and development strategies, policies and plans;
* Completing project work in an efficient and timely manner;
* Establishing project schedules and budgets;
* Overseeing maintenance and optimizing engineering efficiencies;
* Ensuring conformity with specification plans, ensuring all regulations and safety requirements are met;
* Providing sales support engineering, documentation, certification, and quality requirements;
* Technical client liaison in response to quotations, designs, customisation and modification;
* Technical CAD drawings, assisting in the design and technical CAD drawings of valve and actuation;
* Workshop engineering and testing support;
* Assisting the Quality Manager with technical quality documentation;
* Liaising and attending meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid to business and organisational development;
* Liaising with other departments and personnel;
* Purchasing and expediting orders for individual sales (buy-ins).
