Overview
ACCIONA Agua is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Legal Counsel to join our dynamic legal team. This is a strategic role supporting major infrastructure projects in the water sector with a strong focus on front-end construction law and project delivery.
We are considering applications from candidates based in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, or Brisbane.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic legal advice to senior leadership and project teams.
* Draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documents aligned with policy and commercial objectives.
* Conduct targeted legal research and analysis to support business decisions.
* Engage with domestic and international stakeholders to identify and manage legal and commercial risks.
* Lead and support negotiations, including selecting and managing external legal counsel.
* Ensure compliance with corporate governance and approval processes.
Key Capabilities
Required Skills and Competencies
* Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience (PQE) in legal practice.
* Strong expertise in front-end construction law, including contracts, procurement, and project delivery.
* Experience managing legal aspects of major infrastructure projects.
* Skilled in stakeholder engagement and strategic legal advisory within complex project environments.
* High level of professionalism and discretion in handling sensitive legal matters.
* Ability to work independently while coordinating with external legal providers for dispute-related matters.
Qualifications
* Admitted to practise law in Australia.
* Demonstrated experience in construction and infrastructure law, with a focus on front-end matters.
* Prior involvement in project delivery within large-scale infrastructure or utilities sectors.
* Based in or willing to relocate to Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, or Adelaide.
