Sydney Youth Orchestras (SYO) is at the forefront of youth orchestral music in Australia. We believe young people are not just the future—they are the present. Position
We’re looking for a Manager – Musicians & Training to help us bring this vision to life. In this role, you’ll lead a dedicated team, manage systems and processes, and oversee the administrative needs of our talented young musicians and their families. If you’re detail-oriented, a great communicator, and enthusiastic about arts education, this could be the perfect role for you. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to grow professionally and contribute broadly to SYO’s mission with exciting opportunities to tour both internationally and across NSW scheduled over the next 12 months.
Salary: $60-75,000 p.a. plus superannuation, commensurate with experience

Selection Criteria
Required:
- 3 Years experience in a similar role in a school, educational institution, arts organisation, festival, or similar fast paced environment.
- Experience with computer software / systems and ability to quickly learn new systems including but not limited to Salesforce CRM, Asana, FormAssembly (online form building), Learning Management Systems, Zoom
- Experience managing a team of both full time and casual staff
- A passion for music and working with young people
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities
- A current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Degree qualifications (or equivalent) in Music and/or Music Education, or equivalent professional experience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a Management Team.
- Experience managing orchestral rehearsals and performances
- Proven ability to work with different stakeholders
- Full (Unrestricted) NSW Driver’s License
