Details: The Public Housing Energy Support Team is seeking applications from motivated and organised individuals to fill the position of Assistant Director.
The Assistant Director will manage the delivery of a range of energy efficiency programs across the public housing portfolio. This includes bringing all Housing ACT properties up to the new ceiling insulation minimum standard and replacing gas appliances with energy efficient electric alternatives.
The success of the program is highly dependent on effective consultation and engagement both within the Division and more broadly across the ACT Government (Particularly with the Climate Change, Energy and Water Division of the City and Environment Directorate).
We are looking for someone with demonstrated end to end project management experience, along with an ability to influence and negotiate within a team environment. The role requires strong stakeholder engagement skills and an ability to think broadly in making well thought-out, balanced decisions (and or recommendations).
The position requires someone able to work closely with various teams to ensure an integrated and coordinated delivery with a tenant centric lens.

Notes: This is a temporary position available from 02 March 2026 until 30 June 2028 with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.
A merit pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
