Staff Development Midwife

The role of Staff Development Midwife is a pivotal position in the multidisciplinary team, focusing on planning, implementing, and evaluating education and training relevant to midwifery practice. This individual will work closely with Regional Nurse Educators to design and deliver targeted programs that enhance the skills and knowledge of midwives and other maternity care staff.

As a Staff Development Midwife, you will be responsible for conducting Training Needs Analyses to identify the educational requirements of midwives, nurses, and assistants within the ward/unit. You will also facilitate evidence-based nursing care while adhering to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia standards.

The ideal candidate for this role possesses a valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, extensive clinical experience in midwifery practice, strong communication skills, and a proven track record in adult education and training facilitation. Experience in developing and implementing training programs within a healthcare setting is highly desirable.
