Service deli staff - assistants & supervisors (gold coast)

**Position Summary**

**Assistant** - Prepares, packages, and labels meals, entrees, salads, party trays, rotisserie chicken, sliced meats, and cheeses. Prepares take-and-bake pizzas. Stocks and rotates merchandise in the display case. Maintains machinery and equipment. Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers. Follows proper safety procedures and standards.

**Supervisor** - Supervises and participates in the daily operations of the Service Deli. Supports the Service Deli management team in promoting a high-level of productivity. Coordinates employee lunches and breaks, reviews employees, carries out new programs, and addresses member issues. Implements and upholds proper Service Deli and general safety procedures and standards. Maintains courteous member service at all times. Promotes a high level of productivity and m ember service. Participates in duties of the service deli area.

**Job Duties/Essential Functions**

**Assistant**:

- Dismantles equipment, washes, rinses and sanitises removable parts, equipment in Deli and Rotisserie rooms
- Inspects and reassembles equipment, addresses any corrective actions from the previous night
- Rework display case, filling and rotating merchandise
- Completes required department paperwork
- Cleans and sanitises work area throughout the day following Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) guidelines for proper cleaning and sanitation of all equipment required by this position
- Completes and complies with 11 Commandments of Quality assurance, Food Safety Certification, department specific training, and all safety training required by warehouse, service deli and rotisserie department
- Complies with health code by following sanitation standards and maintaining proper temperatures
- Stocks and rotates supplies in cooler/freezer
- Removes rubbish from department and work areas
- Operates rubbish compactor and cardboard baler
- Skewers and loads chicken into rotisserie ovens
- Cooks chicken as per Standard Operating Procedure
- Packages, labels and displays chicken in hot holding cabinet
- Adheres to all departments Standard Operating Procedures
- Prepares meat, poultry, cold meat, vegetables and seafood as per Standard Operating Procedures
- Assembles platters, pizzas, sushi, salads, raw meats and other items sold in the Service Deli and Rotisserie departments
- Assists with other department of the warehouse as necessary
- Provides and ensures prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees and vendors

**Supervisor**:

- Develops, coaches, counsels, and directs Service Deli personnel. Provides feedback to promote team work and accountability among employees. Interactively monitors Service Deli employee performance and participates in performance reviews as needed Implements and upholds proper Service Deli and general safety procedures and standards
- Monitors finished merchandise to see that department consistency and quality standards are met. Monitors merchandise presentation and merchandising
- Participates in restocking ingredients and supplies, food preparation, stocking display case, and cleaning up
- Determines production requirements
- Follows Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) guidelines as it refers to proper cleaning and sanitation of all equipment required by this position
- Completes and complies with the 11 Commandments of Quality Assurance, Food Safety certification, and all safety training required by warehouse and Service Deli
- Assists with physical inventory periodically and assists with orders to buying office for equipment, product, and supplies
- Coordinates proper maintenance and repairs for machinery, equipment, and implements
- Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary
- Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers

**Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery**
- Pressure washer, commercial dish washer, combination heat/steam oven/s, rotisserie, warming case, wrapping machine, knife, shears, wheeled racks, proofing boxes, rubbish compactor, cardboard baler, pallet jack, blast chiller, air hose cleaner, step ladder, phone, computer, calculator, copier

Education/Training:

- High School Certificate or higher; or Trade qualification

Licenses/Certifications:

- None required; or Trade qualification

Other Skills and Abilities:

- Previous food handling, food service or comparable experience
- Solid customer service, communication, interpersonal and organisation skills
- Supervisory or leadership experience
- Google Suite (Docs, Spreadsheet, Slides) & AS400
- Basic math skills

**Other specific requirements**:

- Full COVID-19 vaccination or medical contraindications certificate
- If successful, you will be required to undertake role & department specific training within specified timeframes
