Opportunity for an experienced Safety Professional to work for a Not-for-Profit Organisation located in Hobart
**Your new role**
Reporting to the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager, the purpose of the role is to drive a culture of positive safety practices and behaviours, through timely and effective engagement across the organisation. As part of the wider WHS team, this role will provide advice, support, coaching and pro-active leadership in all aspects pertaining to the management of workplace health and safety. Other duties include but are not limited to;
- Contribute and actively support the organisational WHS strategy and safety action plan activities
- Support and development of 1 direct report
- Maintain a sound knowledge of current WHS legislation, policies and guidelines
- Provide support and guidance on the lodging, investigation and resolving of workplace incident, hazards and near misses
- Develop and maintain a suite of safety policies, procedures and documentation
- Process oversight of Incident and Hazard identification, investigation and review
- Contribute to the development of Safe Operating Procedures (SOP's)
**What you'll need to succeed**
- Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety legislation
- Proven capability to provide expert advice and support to employees and leaders in meeting WHS legislative and regulatory requirements.
- The ability to travel to provide support as required
- A current NDIS Worker Screening Check (must be maintained)
- A current national Police Check (must be maintained)
- A current unrestricted driver's licence.
