Mechanical Design Engineer
Our client is seeking for a Mechanical Design Engineer (full time) to join their team, contributing to OEM and automotive programs. In this hands-on role, you will work directly on accessory such as roof racks, bull bars, and structural components.
Key Responsibilities
* Design 3D CAD models and 2D drawings in CATIA or Solidworks in line with OE standards.
* Familiar with engineering changes and iterations methods.
* Design components using extruded aluminium and fabricated sheet metal to OE standards.
* Apply GD&T for robust manufacturing and assembly.
* Maintain regular customer engagement, managing technical interfaces, deliverables, and timelines.
* Collaborate across internal teams and OEM stakeholders to deliver projects on time and to specification.
Qualifications
* Mechanical Engineering degree with experience in an automotive business.
* Strong proficiency in 3D CAD modelling (CATIA & SolidWorks).
* Solid understanding of GD&T, structural and resin part design, and material properties.
* Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation.
* Self-starter with excellent customer-facing and communication skills; able to meet project schedules and deliverables.
