Job Description
We are currently seeking an individual to join our Environmental team on a full-time, permanent basis. The role involves conducting routine soil, water, and air analyses, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and timely laboratory results. Additionally, this position is responsible for organizing and completing necessary fieldwork in the Pilbara region and surrounding areas.
Your key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:
1. Collect samples as per the schedule, including Potable Water, Waste Water, Sewage Water, Soil and Hygiene samples.
2. Maintenance of all sampling and field equipment.
3. Perform all required QC checks and collect required QC samples as requested.
4. Liaise with clients to make site arrangements and to ensure all required equipment is taken on site in accordance with the proposal and the client’s expectations.
5. Undertake routine preparations and analysis of soil and water samples.
6. Ensure equipment and laboratory is kept clean to avoid contamination, and to protect company assets.
7. Carry out scheduled instrument calibration and maintenance in accordance with written procedures.
8. Understand and adapt general laboratory QA/QC criteria and NATA accreditation requirements.
9. Monitor stock levels for sampling consumables as well as assist with preparation and supply of consumables as required.
10. Assist with general office and other duties as directed by your Supervisor.
Qualifications
To qualify for the 50% field and 50% lab work role, we are looking for individuals with the following profile:
11. Degree qualifications in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related fields.
12. Demonstrable technical skills within the mining sector, particularly as a Field Sampling Technician.
13. Previous experience in customer service and effective communication with clients.
14. C class manual license.
15. 4WD training certification.
16. Senior First Aid certification.
17. Must be available for regular travel, including weekends.
18. Fieldwork will primarily be in the Pilbara region.
