Job Description – FIFO Systems Administrator (Level 2–3)
Location: Perth-based (FIFO to mine site north of Kalgoorlie)
Roster: 8 days on / 6 days off (12‑hour shifts)
Contract to Permanent | Early December Start
Permanent Salary: $120K + Super + Benefits
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Level 2–3 Systems Administrator with mine‑site experience for an onsite FIFO position with one of our key clients. The role will begin as a short‑term contract (covering December and holiday period), with the intent to transition into a permanent full‑time position after the contract term.
This is a hands‑on technical role suited for someone who is confident managing IT systems in remote mining environments and comfortable with long shifts under an 8:6 FIFO roster.
Key Responsibilities
IT Systems & Network Support
* Troubleshoot and resolve site IT, communications, and network issues.
* Provision and deploy hardware, networking, and communications equipment.
* Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of all IT infrastructure.
Systems Administration
* Perform access provisioning and administration across AD, VPN, and related services.
* Monitor and update networking and communications devices.
* Execute DR drills, redundancy testing, and maintain detailed documentation.
Infrastructure & Project Support
* Supervise third‑party contractors (e.g., cabling teams, radio base stations).
* Support small project scopes of work, site moves, and new equipment installs.
Technical Environment
* Exposure to virtualization technologies (VMware / Hyper‑V).
* Hands‑on experience with NAS/SAN systems (e.g., Synology).
* Working knowledge of VLANs, subnetting, DHCP.
* Support for CCTV/TV systems, Cat6, and fibre cabling standards.
* Safe use of hand tools within an industrial/mining setting.
* Radio communications / OT systems.
* Prior mining‑site SysAdmin experience (highly regarded).
Requirements
* Must be based in Perth (FIFO only).
* Previous mine‑site experience in a System Administrator role is highly desirable.
* Willingness to start on a contract and transition to a permanent position.
* Commitment to working 12‑hour days on an 8:6 roster.
