About us

Power and Water Corporation is a Northern Territory Government (NTG) owned utility that operates across a geographic area of 1.3 million square kilometres and within a range of diverse environmental conditions, ranging from the arid dry of the central desert to the tropical monsoon of the top end. The corporation generates, transmits and distributes electricity, supplies water and wastewater treatment services across the Northern Territory (NT) for the benefit of residents, including remote and isolated Aboriginal communities and outstations.

An excellent opportunity now exists for a Scientific or Engineering professional degree holder recognised for Professional Membership with Engineer Australia to join our experienced and successful corporation based in Darwin, Northern Territory. The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate their experience in an asset or maintenance management role within energy or utilities industry, demonstrating good understanding of the principles and practices associated with maintaining power network assets. The candidate shall possess advanced problem‐solving and analysis skills with good experience in analysis of asset conditions and performance. Level of appointment will depend on qualification, skill, knowledge and experience.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will hold the following mandatory qualifications, skills and experience:

* Mandatory minimum 3 or 4 year Science and Engineering degree recognised in Australia.
* The ability to interact effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
* Highly developed problem solving and analysis skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g. macros) or other database tools.
* Experience in an asset or maintenance management role within the energy or utilities industry.
* Demonstrated experience of the principles and practices associated with maintaining transmission and distribution assets.
* Experience in analysis of asset failures, condition and performance.
* Demonstrated experience in project planning and management skills.
* Sound working knowledge in the use of maintenance management systems.
