Salary range: $73,672 to $75,232 per annum + 13.5%
About the role
This role contributes to the success of the City by ensuring the secure and efficient delivery of road maintenance activities in accordance with the Road Services Management Plan. The Maintenance Team Leader (Civil / Asphalt) supports the Road Maintenance Coordinator in planning and delivering a program of maintenance that includes concrete and asphalt repairs, line marking, signage and street furniture, while ensuring compliance with relevant standards and safety procedures.
Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and participate in a productive work team to maintain roads, footpaths, signage and street furniture.
- Backfill the Coordinator role when required.
- Ensure services are delivered efficiently and in compliance with relevant standards and WHS policies.
- Coach and mentor team members to develop technical skills and professional behaviours.
- Participate in daily toolbox meetings and liaise with the Coordinator on resource needs.
- Coordinate external resources and operate plant and machinery safely.
- Collect and record asset management data.
- Participate in after-hours emergency service rosters and be available for overtime.
- Promote and ensure a safe work environment for all.
Qualifications and Experience
- Completion of Year 12, a Certificate IV qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
- Current Driver Licence and Medium Rigid Licence.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Sound knowledge of WHS principles and the ability to apply them in daily operations.
- Basic computer skills for completing asset and safety documentation.
