The Opportunity
HeliMods is seeking new and recent graduate engineers in the aero, space, mechanical, mechatronic, computing, software, electrical, product design, advanced manufacturing and process disciplines, who have a real passion for technology and innovation to join us for a 12-month program. You will be working on exciting new products for our civil and military clients, building new organisational capability, and will be responsible within your team for timely, high-quality delivery against challenging project targets. You will have the opportunity to learn from internationally experienced engineers, get hands on with state-of-the-art airframes in our world-class facility, and drive the best available technology in an energetic, collaborative, innovative culture that recognises performance and celebrates success.
This program is designed to immerse participants in Helimods' integrated model of digital engineering, certification, advanced manufacturing and integration. Helimods' breadth of capability ensures that every participant gains meaningful experience in aerospace design for special missions, while giving an opportunity to tailor the program to suit individual interests and career goals. Whether you choose to focus deeply within a particular stream or remain generalist in nature, your journey will be supported by appropriate internal accreditations, mentorship, and real-world project involvement.
We're going to expect a lot from you, and we want you to expect a lot of yourself. However, you'll also have the support of a team of motivated, talented and experienced colleagues, all striving for a common purpose.
Each stream is designed to promote deep expertise, with internal pathways under development to support recognition and progression into specialised roles, as examples show below:
Certification
? CASA Authorized Person (within the HM 21J framework) within 4–6 years
Advanced Manufacturing
? Aircraft maintenance, aerospace-grade metal machining, composite fabrication, product assembly, and process optimisation
Quality
? On-the-floor verification, inspections, tests, root cause analysis, business analytics, failure and reliability analysis of in-service products, and performance monitoring
Product Support
? Unique blend of design, certification, and commercial engineering; training in configuration management, sustainment planning, and customer engagement
Design
? Core design skills, research, prototype development, and cross-disciplinary development
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
A bachelor's degree (or higher) in aeronautical, aerospace, mechanical, mechatronic, computing, software, electrical, avionics, advanced manufacturing, process, quality engineering.
0 to 12 months of post-graduate engineering experience.
The energy, intelligence and initiative to proactively overcome industries' toughest challenges.
The creativity, curiosity and open-mindedness to explore alternative approaches, question conventional thinking, and adapt to change.
The people skills and collaborative focus that brings out the best in yourself and others within small, dynamic, multi-disciplinary teams.

A typical day on-site
Unlike many traditional engineering firms, our young engineers have an immediate impact in a broad range of areas with limitless potential to direct their growth over time. This includes:
Developing digital and physical prototypes using CAD, augmented reality and 3D printing.
Creating CAD, CAM and FEA of a product and its assemblies before release to manufacture and certification.
Conducting research on technical methods to tackle difficult engineering challenges, or on automated systems to increase our quality and productivity.
Working with the onsite production team to oversee one of your designs through the manufacturing process, followed by 3D scanning verification.
Supporting fast turn-around design approvals to allow new products to be integrated across fixed-wing and rotary-wing fleets.

Selection of preferred streams (from 1-5 with 1 being the most preferred) in your cover letter
Create a portfolio of your work, demonstrating your passion for design, technology and engineering (slideshow format, 3 slides, focus on graphical content – bonus points for extra-curricular activity), upload it to Google Drive, Github (or similar), and provide the link within your application.
Recruitment Process
We are currently recruiting for Graduate Engineers to commence in ****.

Final in-person interviews will occur in late November and December.
