About the Role
- Assist Trade personnel in the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the Gladstone Marine Fleet and infrastructure facilities.
- Assist the maintenance department as required and directed by the Maintenance Manager.
- Assist the Gladstone business as directed by the Management Team.
- Appropriately represent SeaLink, which shall include maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and conduct.
- Ensure the Work Health and Safety obligations of themselves and their co-workers are not jeopardized by their actions/ inactions whilst at work.
- Ensure that the procedures of the Environmental License and Environmental Management Program as directed to them are adhered to.
- Ensure housekeeping is completed at regular intervals.
You will be required to work 80 hours per fortnight, on a nine-day-on, five-day-off roster. You will work in close conjunction with the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Team.
This is a key role within the organisation and requires energy, commitment, initiative, teamwork, multi-skilling, and time management skills.
About You
- Live locally within the Gladstone postcode area (4680).
- Familiarity with mechanical plants, particularly marine diesel engines, marine vessels, and components.
- Demonstrated commitment to a safe working environment.
- Ability to follow direction, procedure, and company policy.
- Excellent written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Numerical ability, ICT, and record-keeping skills.
- Demonstrated Experience within a Trade Assistant role.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- C Class driver's license.
- Medium Rigid driver's license.
- LF forklift license.
- Recreational boat license.
- Confined space and gas test atmosphere training (desirable).
- Working at heights training (desirable).
