Job Description

Perdaman Chemicals and Fertilisers is developing Project Ceres, a major urea manufacturing facility in Karratha, Western Australia, designed to be Australia's largest urea plant. The project represents a multibillion-dollar industrial investment and aims to produce approximately 2.3 million tonnes of urea per annum, significantly reducing Australia's reliance on imported fertiliser and supporting national food security. On behalf of Perdaman Chemicals and Fertilisers are looking for highly experienced Utilities and Offsites Field Operator. Tasks & Duties: The Field Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the power plant, utilities, and off-site processes within the Ammonia & Urea Fertilizers Plant.

The role involves routine inspection, monitoring, and local operation of key utility systems, including HRSG, gas & steam turbines, compressors, cooling towers, and water treatment units, fuel handling (NG, HSD), effluent and flare systems to ensure uninterrupted power generation and utility support to process plants.

Responsibilities

* Conduct regular field rounds of utility systems, recording readings and checking for equipment abnormalities.
* Operate and monitor gas turbines, HRSG, steam turbines, air compressors, nitrogen units, cooling towers, water treatment systems, flare system, and effluent system.
* Support plant startups, shutdowns, and equipment changeovers under the direction of the control room.
* Monitor fuel and water levels, operate valves, and ensure equipment cleanliness and lubrication.

Qualifications

* Diploma or associate degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Power Engineering
* 5-10 years of experience in utilities and power plant field operations in a continuous process industry (preferably fertilizer, petrochemical, or refinery).
* Experience with Siemens makes gas turbines and steam turbines an added advantage.
* Familiarity with ammonia/urea production support utilities is an advantage.
* Strong understanding of utility plant systems and processes (steam, power, air, water, etc.).
* Knowledge of safety procedures, PTW system, and equipment isolation
