I&M; Joinery Pty Ltd is a newly established timber joinery and carpentry company, specializing in joinery and carpentry for residential and commercial projects including kitchens, furniture and office fit-outs. Our work covers all aspects of joinery and carpentry from design to installation. We are seeking Joiners to join our fast growing operations.
As a Joiner you will be required to shape, cut and fit timber elements and erect, renovate, repair and install fixtures and structures made of wood, wallboard, plywood and other materials.
We are seeking full time joiners to join our team, responsible for:
- Examine drawings, blueprints, construction plans and work orders to understand client specifications and requirements.
- Take required measurements, using pencils and measuring tape, and cross reference them with construction plans and blueprints to ensure accuracy.
- Cut and shape wood to form structures and fittings ready for installation using saws and chisels as per specifications and drawings.
- Assemble and join wooden parts to build doors, frames, shelves and other wooden and structural components using nails, screws, staples and adhesives, as appropriate.
Additionally, responsibilities include:
- Ensure proper alignment, angles and positioning of wooden structures using spirit levels and against the blueprints.
- Install doors, cupboards, skirting boards as required.
- Install fixtures such as door handles and locks, hinges, bolts and railings.
- Repair, remove and/or replace wooden parts and structures that are damaged.
- Estimate the amounts, types, or costs of needed materials.
The job will be full time, with hours to be worked between 9.00 am and 5.30 pm Monday to Friday.
Successful applicants must have:
Qualifications:
- Relevant qualifications including certificate III or IV in joinery
- Minimum 2 years experience in relevant field or 3 years joinery experience in lieu of formal qualifications
Skills:
- Marking and measuring
- Cutting and shaping wood
- Joinery techniques
- Blueprint and technical drawing reading
- Time Management

- Deal with clients, suppliers and other employees professionally at all times
- Ensure workplace is clean and presentable at all times
