Your new role – Children's Services Cook (Casual)
We're looking for a dedicated and experienced Cook to work in Council's long day care service at the Ulverstone Childcare Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing quality menu and food preparation for children in accordance with service levels and the service's Nutrition and Food Safety Policy. This includes:
* Cooking quality and nutritious food for the children.
* Sourcing local and in season produce within budget and documenting the ordering, receipt and storage of all food items.
* Maintaining food hygiene standards and undertaking general cleaning duties in the kitchen.
* Designing menus and completing required documentation as per food safety and Centre requirements.
* Collaborating with Educators to support children's wellbeing and routines.
Essential:
* Food Safety Certificate and Working with Vulnerable People Registration.
* Demonstrated experience in bulk meal preparation, online ordering and stock management.
* Ability to prepare, implement and evaluate the nutritional content of menus for children of all ages and cater for individual child requirements including allergies, and dietary requirements.
* Compliance with relevant food safety, hygiene regulations and standards.
* Ability to plan, prioritise and organise work within a set timetable and in an environment of change and conflicting demands.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively and co-operatively as part of a team.
Salary and conditions: Casual position. Central Coast Council's Enterprise Agreement – General Support Level 1.2 ($30 per hour, plus 25% casual loading = $37.50 per hour).
