We are seeking a motivated and practical Junior Project Manager / Construction Coordinator to support the delivery of multiple residential projects alongside our builder and site supervisors.
This role would suit someone with a strong carpentry or site-based construction background who is looking to transition into a longer-term project management pathway.
About the Role
This is a hands-on coordination role that combines both site and office responsibilities. You will assist with monitoring project progress, reviewing site quality, coordinating trades and suppliers, pricing variations, reviewing quotes, and supporting overall project delivery.
The successful applicant will play an important role in helping projects run smoothly while working closely with our internal team and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
* Regular site visits to monitor construction progress and quality
* Identify construction issues, inconsistencies, or practical concerns onsite
* Assist with project coordination across multiple residential builds
* Read and interpret architectural and engineering plans
* Assist with pricing and preparing client variations
* Review subcontractor and supplier quotations
* Liaise with trades, suppliers, and consultants regarding project requirements
* Assist with scheduling and tracking upcoming works
* Maintain project documentation and records
* Support site supervisors and management team with day-to-day project delivery
* Provide clear communication and updates internally
* Monitor general site safety and identify potential risks or unsafe practices onsite
* Raise safety concerns proactively and assist in implementing practical solutions
* Promote good housekeeping, safe work practices, and overall site presentation
Ideal Candidate
* Carpentry qualification or strong carpentry/site-based construction background essential
* Previous experience as a leading hand, foreman, or similar role essential.
* Strong understanding of residential construction methods and sequencing
* Ability to confidently read and interpret plans and specifications
* Strong understanding of residential construction safety requirements and onsite risk awareness
* Ability to identify practical safety issues and communicate solutions effectively
* High attention to detail and quality
* Experience using BuilderTrend preferred
* Organised with strong time management skills
* Good communication and problem-solving abilities
* Experience with variations, estimating, or project coordination beneficial but not essential

Remuneration
Hourly rate + Superannuation negotiable based on experience.
