We work closely with academic colleagues and senior managers to collaborate with Schools, Research Groups, and other stakeholders within Griffith Health to meet strategic and operational technical support priorities across Griffith Health.
Job Description
Griffith University is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Simulation Officer to join our Simulation and Practical Experience team. This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality simulation and related learning activities, primarily within the Nursing and Midwifery disciplines.
You will develop and maintain up-to-date specialist or technical knowledge of new and innovative methodology, equipment, and technology in simulation education. You will also provide specialist advice and training to relevant stakeholders for the Simulation Suites, including ensuring compliance with technical standards and protocols.
Under the supervision of the Team Leader, you will liaise with fellow Senior Technical Officers, Simulation Officers, and Academic staff as part of a collaborative model fostering innovation. Additionally, you will coordinate operational requirements to support the Clinical simulation space, including rostering, timetabling, procurement, maintenance, safety compliance, setup, and demonstrations of simulation and clinical equipment.
This position requires the ability to act quickly and informatively to support the university, with a high degree of variation in daily tasks. We’re looking for a proactive individual who can conduct self-directed learning and contribute to a successful student clinical simulation experience and team success.
What we offer
This is a full-time, ongoing position based primarily at the Griffith University Gold Coast campus, with potential to work across other campuses.
The full-time base salary is HEW Level 6, ranging from $91,843 to $97,964 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package ranges from $107,456 to $114,617 per annum.
Qualifications
To be successful, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a demonstrated commitment to the health industry and education through simulation, and:
* A relevant health-based degree with experience in delivering practical skills and immersive simulation in tertiary education.
* Registration as a Nurse with clinical experience and expertise in simulation-based learning.
* Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and proficiency in computer literacy and simulation software.
* Excellent team coordination and collaboration skills.
* Ability to work independently and adapt to change confidently.
* A passion for immersive simulation and student practical skills.
* Knowledge of health and safety standards in simulation environments.
* Experience with Microsoft 365, including Teams and SharePoint.
