Overview
The BCP and Risk Analyst plays a key role in strengthening the organisation's operational resilience through effective business continuity planning and risk management. The role is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks while maintaining frameworks that align with regulatory standards and internal requirements.
Working closely with stakeholders, the BCP and Risk Analyst supports the design, implementation, and testing of business continuity plans (BCPs) and ensures the organisation is well-prepared to respond to disruptive events.
* Drive the development, maintenance, and testing of BCPs.
* Partner with stakeholders to embed resilience and risk awareness into daily operations.
* Monitor and enhance risk frameworks to ensure compliance and readiness.
Key Accountabilities and Main Responsibilities
Strategic Focus
* Support the organisation's Business Continuity Management (BCM) framework, ensuring alignment with CPS 230 and regulatory standards.
* Identify critical business processes, assess potential disruptions, and contribute to continuity strategies and recovery plans.
* Develop risk and control frameworks, including RACMs, and integrate them with business continuity planning.
* Uplift operational resilience capabilities through scenario planning and testing.
* Build strong relationships with stakeholders, anticipating and managing resilience risks.
Operational Risk Management / Resilience
* Conduct business impact analyses (BIAs) to define recovery objectives.
* Assist with BCP testing programs, including exercises and drills.
* Support scenario testing on critical processes and monitor effectiveness of controls.
* Maintain current BCP documentation and ensure alignment with organisational changes.
* Assess operational risks, including third-party risks, and support resilience reporting.
* Contribute to continuous improvement and compliance with processes, procedures, and CPS 230 requirements.
Governance & Risk
* Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
* Collaborate across the three lines of risk to support the Operating Resilience Model.
* Promote a proactive risk and compliance culture.
* Support training and awareness programs on BCP and risk management.
* Stay informed on regulatory changes and emerging risks impacting resilience.
Comply with MUFG privacy policy and procedures.
Experience & Personal Attributes
* 2+ years' experience in business continuity, operational risk, or related disciplines.
* Strong understanding of RACMs, GRC systems, and risk/control frameworks.
* Experience conducting BIAs and developing BCPs.
* Collaborative team player with the ability to influence stakeholders.
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Clear communicator with strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
